Team
Building
If you're looking for effective team and personal development, we can
help...
Improve clarity of purpose within the team
Develop quicker decision making
Promote creativity and generation of new ideas
Achieve better solutions for customers
Identify strengths and areas for development within the team
Reduce internal conflict
Improve cross-functional teamwork
Deliver more effective team and personal development
Simply, we offer hill-walking experiences that are ideal for team
bonding, staff health & well-being. Our team building is
delivered in the Great Outdoors, which means no expensive conference
facilities - saving you money.
Our guided walks in and around the South Downs are tailor made for
small groups of up to 10 individuals as a maximum. It’s up to you
whether you choose to use us for developing relationships within your
organisation or with your customers or suppliers.
How can we help your business?
As experienced walk guides, we specialise in helping people to build
working and social relationships by walking together. It’s very simple
but very effective, and there are lots of positive side effects.
Why walk?
Because walking together in small groups encourages social cohesion and
communication.
In other words, walking side by side, shoulder to shoulder with someone
is non competitive and non confrontational and results in REALLY
TALKING AND REALLY LISTENING; we begin to communicate effectively and
to understand and appreciate one another, which creates an excellent
foundation for working effectively together.
(Build a raft if you like, but the leaders will emerge and the
followers will follow and the exercise can be done without the need to
truly get to know and understand a person……)
Why use us?
Because you could organise this yourself but you don’t have to – it’s
not your job, but it is ours and we can arrange everything – route,
lunch, accommodation (if required), transport etc. and if necessary we
can facilitate who speaks to whom, discussion topics etc.
Because of our location in the southeast your staff will not spend
excessive amounts of time or money getting to us and because we are
making use of public space the B-Footloose experience is comparatively
cost effective.
Both Bridget and Cath, her business partner, have worked within large
and small organisations and do understand the need for effective
communication and good working relationships within the work place.
We suggest that the B-Footloose experience is particularly suited to
situations where you are trying to encourage inter department
communication. In medium to large organisations, people often work in
silos with no cross fertilisation of ideas or business. For example, in
a law practice the divorce specialist may not communicate with their
colleagues in inheritance or conveyance, and yet there is often
potential to cross sell.
Aside from better working relationships there are other ‘touchy feely’
benefits to the B-Footloose walking experience; a sense of achievement,
an appreciation of the ‘great outdoors’ available in the southeast, and
an increased confidence in accessing it, the pleasure of physical
exercise, perspective on work and personal issues to name but a few.
Better than a raft? If you think so, Contact us to discuss ideas and
arrangements.

Corporate
Hospitality
It is also an unusual and cost effective form of unique corporate
entertainment. At the end of a hill walk organised by us your guests
will feel tired but relaxed and healthy, they will have seen some
fantastic scenery, spent quality time with you and possibly experienced
something completely new to them. Above all they will never be so
grateful for a beer and a meal at your expense!
Corporate Social Responsibility
As a company you are well aware of this most topical of phrases.
A B-Footloose walk could be the ideal sponsored employee challenge,
enabling you as an organisation to fulfil your Corporate Social
Responsibilities by putting something back into the community and
raising money for a good cause.
You may already have a nominated charity but if not and you are looking
for a worthwhile cause to get behind, B-Footloose 2010 charity is
Dreams Come True. Based in Midhurst, Dreams Come True raises money to
fulfil the wishes and dreams of terminally and seriously ill children.

Walking
and it’s
health benefits
Walking is a wonderful way of exercising whilst enjoying the company of
others. What better than to be able to chat with really good friends,
putting the world to rights whilst keeping fit, toning up, breathing in
fresh air, enjoying glorious views and discovering new parts of the UK
countryside.
Walking is one of the best ways of unwinding, relaxing and
de-stressing. It allows you the mix of time spent walking quietly on
your own, keeping yourself to yourself for your own contemplation and
thoughts with the camaraderie and banter that is an inevitability when
you are with good friends in the fresh air. It is the perfect antidote
to the hurly-burly of our modern lives.
The health benefits of walking are only just beginning to be understood.
The right form of exercise done moderately and regularly is good for
your body (and, ladies, your skin..). Brisk walking is known to be one
of the best ways to sustain fitness levels and fight against the signs
of ageing. It encourages the body to shed stored fat, build muscle and
boost circulation. Great news for the long term health of your body and
your skin.
Walking can also reduce blood pressure, cut cholesterol and can prevent
your brain and bones ageing prematurely. As density and may help ward
off osteoporosis.
Power walking is almost the perfect exercise, offering the same
cardiovascular benefits as running but with far less strain and stress
on your joints.
Walking also helps to improve posture. Walking at pace forces you to
hold a more upright stance, thereby straightening your back. It is very
difficult to slouch when trying to keep up the momentum required for a
brisk walk. If you can also keep your shoulders slightly drawn back and
pull in your stomach (just try slightly contracting you central core –
and draw up your pelvic floor) we are sure you will start to see
improvements to the way your hold yourself. Even at rest.
